Thorens TD 125

Thorens TD 125

Vintage & classic turntables · 1968–1977 Discontinued

£550 typical UK used price

Thorens' belt-drive flagship replaced the TD 124, pairing a three-point suspended sub-chassis with an electronic Wien-bridge oscillator controlling motor speed — advanced for 1968. The Mk II of 1972 refined the arm and electronics, and many were sold armless for SME arms.

One of the first turntables with electronic speed control and a benchmark suspended-subchassis design of its era.

Who it suits

Best suited to: buyers comfortable assessing used condition and budgeting for servicing (drive mechanism, bearing, stylus). Less ideal for: a no-hassle purchase with a manufacturer warranty — buy a current model instead.
