RecordPlayer.co.uk is an independent reference for record players sold (or once sold) in the UK. We catalogue 251 turntables from 60 brands — from £50 suitcase players to six-figure statement decks, plus the vintage classics that still change hands every day.

Who's behind this

This site is built and maintained by Doug, one person who likes building obsessively detailed data projects and happened to fall down the turntable rabbit hole. There's no editorial team — just one person checking the data, which means a genuine mistake is a real possibility but also gets fixed fast once spotted. If you find one, it's an error, not a stale copy-paste job.

Where the data comes from

Specifications for current models are compiled from the manufacturers' own websites, and each product page links back to the official source. Vintage entries are compiled from manufacturer archives and the enthusiast record (production years, drive systems, original prices), with typical UK second-hand prices as a guide only. The current dataset was compiled July 2026.

How merchant links work

Every product page lists UK merchants associated with the brand, with a plain, untagged search link to the model on each merchant’s site. Current-model pages can also load live in-stock offers supplied by Redbrain. The default configuration uses Redbrain’s clean merchant URLs; optional tracking mode is disclosed in the offer section and applies sponsored link attributes.

Prices

Reference prices are UK RRP for current models and typical used prices for vintage decks. They are dated orientation values. Redbrain offer prices and stock are fetched separately when available and can change between lookup and purchase; always confirm on the merchant site.

What this site isn't

It's a specifications and price database, not a hands-on review site — nobody on this project has listened to every deck in it. Comparison verdicts and buying notes are reasoned from documented specs (drive type, torque, included cartridge, connectivity), not listening tests. Treat it as a place to shortlist and cross-check facts, then read a dedicated reviewer or hear a deck in person before you buy.

Is RecordPlayer.co.uk affiliated with any turntable brand or shop?

No. We have no commercial relationship with any manufacturer or merchant. The static merchant-search links are plain and untagged. Live offers, when available, are supplied by Redbrain; the default configuration uses clean merchant URLs, while optional tracking mode is disclosed and marks links as sponsored. Inclusion and ordering are not paid placements.

Does anyone actually listen to or review these turntables?

No, and we don't claim to.
