The TD 150 introduced the classic recipe of a belt-driven two-piece platter on a three-spring suspended sub-chassis with a low-torque synchronous motor. Its engineering directly inspired a generation of suspended decks, most famously the Linn LP12.
The template for the Linn Sondek LP12 and one of the great bargains of vintage hi-fi.
Who it suits
Best suited to: buyers comfortable assessing used condition and budgeting for servicing (drive mechanism, bearing, stylus). Less ideal for: a no-hassle purchase with a manufacturer warranty — buy a current model instead.
