Model history: The SL-1300G isn't a replacement for the SL-1200G — it's a new addition that sits between the SL-1200GR2 and SL-1200G in Technics' Grand Class range, filling a roughly $2,000 price gap. It shares the SL-1200G's motor but uses a lighter chassis, the SL-1200GR2's aluminium S-arm, and drops DJ features like pitch control and cueing light since Technics designed it purely for home listening.
