Music Hall MMF-5.3

Music Hall MMF-5.3

Hi-fi turntables · 2014–present In production

£899 UK RRP

Music Hall's signature split-plinth design: two isolated layers separated by sorbothane, with a carbon arm and 2M Blue.

The double-plinth construction is Music Hall's calling card.

Model history: The MMF-5.3 replaced the MMF-5.1, moving to a 9-inch carbon-fiber tonearm with fully adjustable VTA, azimuth and damped arm lift, a DC synchronous motor for tighter speed stability, and a bundled Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge.

Who it suits

Best suited to: a first serious turntable for an existing or planned amp-and-speakers setup. Less ideal for: plugging straight into passive speakers with no amp — check the built-in phono stage row above, and note most hi-fi decks still need external amplification.
