Music Hall MMF-2.3

Music Hall MMF-2.3

Hi-fi turntables · 2010–present In production

£449 UK RRP

The long-serving heart of the Music Hall range, built in the Czech Republic: a pure manual audiophile deck with a factory-fitted MM cartridge.

Model history: The MMF-2.3 succeeds the MMF-2.2, adding a pre-mounted carbon-fiber tonearm, a factory-fitted Music Hall Spirit MM cartridge, and a separately isolated DC synchronous motor in place of the 2.2's earlier drive setup.

Who it suits

Best suited to: a first serious turntable for an existing or planned amp-and-speakers setup. Less ideal for: plugging straight into passive speakers with no amp — check the built-in phono stage row above, and note most hi-fi decks still need external amplification.
