Luxman PD-191A

Luxman PD-191A

High-end turntables · 2022–present In production

£10,999 UK RRP

Luxman's flagship belt-drive: a heavier plinth and platter than the PD-151, in the brand's timeless matte-and-wood aesthetic.

Model history: The PD-191A replaces the long-running PD-171 as Luxman's flagship belt-drive turntable, adding 78rpm playback (which the PD-171 lacked), a new high-precision DC motor with reference-clock speed correction, a thicker 35mm/5.2kg aluminium platter, and a new LTA-710 tonearm with concealed vertical knife-edge bearings.

Who it suits

Best suited to: an established system where the amp, speakers and room can resolve what this deck retrieves from the groove. Less ideal for: a first turntable — the same budget goes much further spent on mid-range separates first.
